At Kernodle Clinic, our pediatricians care for children from birth through eighteen years of age. We offer a variety of nursery, inpatient, and outpatient services. We provide 24 hour medical coverage with an on call physician for our patients, with weekend hours for acute illness.
Purpose of Pediatrics
We recognize that children are rapidly changing and growing through all the stages of childhood. The purpose of pediatric medicine is to prevent illness and treat minor injuries, infections, and illnesses. This specialty emcompasses the physical, emotional, social, and mental health of children. Our pediatricians can assess the physical and mental development of a child as he or she grows through different stages, as well as address acute and chronic diseases.
The Kernodle Clinic Department of Pediatrics can provide services to pediatric patients at both of our locations- Mebane and Elon. For a more expansive list of the services that Kernodle Clinic provides, visit our Pediatric Services page.
Well Child Visits
Well child visits are one of the most common and important services that a pediatrician can provide. Children need regular check-ups in order to be properly assessed through their levels of development. Maintaining a regular well child visit schedule can ensure that illnesses and potential health risks are addressed as soon as possible. This can be very beneficial in the area of preventative health. For more information about well child visits, read about the service here (link to Well Child Visit page).
All five of our pediatricians are certified by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). To earn this certification, a doctor must complete three years of pediatrics training in a residency program that is accredited. Additionally, a doctor must pass a one-day examination related to healthcare for children of all ages. This includes infants, children, and adolescents.
Our pediatricians are…
Honored to have your trust
Appreciate your loyalty to our practice
Grateful to take part in your child’s health care
At Kernodle Clinic, we strive to provide children with the best possible pediatric care. Pediatrics is a unique medical field in the sense that communication with the patient has an added level of complexity. The doctor is not simply communicating with the patient themselves. Bringing the parents or guardians into the communication process is necessary, as child patients are sometimes too young to make decisions themselves. Our goal is to facilitate the dynamic relationship between family, patient, and physician so that the best level of pediatric treatment can be provided.
