Rheumatology is a sub-specialty of internal medicine and pediatrics which is concerned with treating conditions affecting joints, connective tissue, soft tissues, autoimmune diseases, and vasculitis. In general, rheumatology comes into play in regards to any disorder regarding motion, bones, and muscles etc.

Dr. Mayur Patel earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree with Honors from the School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He received his medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed an Internal Medicine residency at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine. He served a Rheumatology fellowship at Indiana University School of Medicine. He is board certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology and is a member of the American College of Rheumatology.
