Melody Burr was born and
raised in Alamance County and feels led to continue providing care to her
fellow residents. The discipline of midwifery allows her to provide
quality care to women in a personal but comprehensive way. Her
approach to women's health care is centered on her belief that a woman's
body was fearfully and wonderfully made, and the hormonal phases the body
goes through are normal, not an illness. She strives to help educate
women about those changes and support them when things do go array.
Seeing women from an age as young as 11 to women in their 80's has allowed
allowed her to develop a broad range of experience in gynecology.
She has also been honored by
the women who have asked her to attend their deliveries and provide prenatal
care. She feels life is the greatest blessing given to women, and
enjoys being able to support women during that miraculous time in their
life. She has had training in high risk pregnancies and continues to
care for those women if the need arises, but is encouraged that 80% of all
pregnancies are low risk and have positive outcomes. From
preconception counseling, to annual exams, prenatal care and menopause,
Melody enjoys the full scope of providing women's care in Alamance County.
